GEA RO/NF/MF/UF and other membrane filtration technologies
It is GEA's filtration technology that enables reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration.
Cross-flow membrane filtration technology is rapidly being adopted in numerous process lines worldwide in industries such as food, dairy products, pharmaceuticals/biotechnology, and starch/sweeteners. Due to its ability to separate substances very selectively at low or room temperature without phase change, membrane filtration offers a cost-effective solution in many applications compared to traditional methods (such as rotary vacuum filters or filter presses). Membrane filtration is a pressure-driven filtration technology that separates molecules ranging from 1.5 μm to several daltons (unified atomic mass units). Membrane filtration technologies are categorized based on the separation techniques and capabilities used, as follows: - Reverse Osmosis (RO) - Nanofiltration (NF) - Ultrafiltration (UF) - Microfiltration (MF) For more details, please refer to the catalog download.
